yeah, there’s lots of different concepts out there for engine designs. I first read about designs like the Rand Cam in the ‘80s and Eugen Kauertz came up with the rotary vane in the ‘60s. But like most of these, sealing and lubrication have been the stumbling block. It’s not enough that an engine design work, it has to work and last since it’s competing with piston engines which work day in and day out for hundreds of thousands of miles. The Wankel has been the most successful alternative ICE design and we know it still has shortcomings.

Have you heard about the Z-motor? It’s an engine but due translation issues the founder want to call it a motor. It’s been developed by a small Finnish company called Aumet .

The founder made his money with dentists’ equipment and seems to be using the profits to develop engines.
